Trump adviser tells foreign officials no change on Paris climate deal

Gary Cohn, President Trump’s chief economic adviser, told foreign climate and energy officials Monday morning that the administration still plans to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

Cohn hosted climate, energy and foreign ministers for an informal breakfast in New York City to precede this week’s United Nations General Assembly meeting.

He told reporters afterward that he reaffirmed what Trump said in June at the White House: that the United States plans to pull out of Paris unless the accord can be made better for the country.

Dreamers sue Trump for ending DACA

Six “Dreamers” — immigrants brought into the country illegally as children — are suing the Trump administration over President Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, Reuters reported Monday.

The lawsuit, filed in San Francisco federal court Monday, is the first to be brought against the administration by recipients of the program. DACA provided its recipients with work permits and protections from deportation.

The plaintiffs are alleging that the Trump administration didn’t follow proper administrative procedures when deciding to end the program and that officials violated due process by revoking an enforcement promise, according to Reuters.

US, allies send fighters, bombers over Korean peninsula in show of force

The U.S., Japan and South Korea on Sunday sent fighter jets and bombers over the Korean peninsula in a show of force.

U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps aircraft flew across the Korean peninsula and released live weapons in a training area as part of the exercise, according to the U.S. Pacific Command.

It came after North Korea last week fired another ballistic missile over Japan.
South Korea’s military said the missile fired from Pyongyang flew about 2,300 miles before landing in the Pacific Ocean.
