About Karl Stark

Karl Stark brings more than 12 years of experience in legislative advocacy to Lobbyit. He worked for 12 years as a federal lobbyist for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), leading infrastructure and public safety portfolios. He worked extensively on the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act or “FAST Act”, the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018, and the  Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021. He prepared and submitted witness testimony on first responder mental health that was included in the Final Report of the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing and helped pass The Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act. Most recently he was at Robert Bosch N.A, where he managed the company’s state and local governmental affairs strategy in the United States.  

He is a 2009 graduate of Kenyon College, where he earned a dual-major in Economics and Political Science with a Concentration in Public Policy. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and son.
