What to watch for on Election Day
Political junkies will be on edge Tuesday looking for any signs that might tell them if Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Hillary Clinton will become the 45th president of the United States.

Here’s what to watch for as the election unfolds. What do the exit polls show? The first batch of voter data will come after 5 p.m., when the major networks will release early exit polls.

While the polls have limitations, they provide an early look at the demographics of the electorate. Clinton has performed best among women, the college educated, minorities and young voters, so her campaign will be hoping for strong numbers among those groups. Trump, meanwhile, is strongest with men, white voters and older voters.

There’s a Zika Treatment in the Works for Pregnant Women
One of the sad facts about the Zika virus is that thereis currently no vaccine or treatment. Researchers around the world have been dutifully working on an immunization and at least three groups have begun to test their vaccines in humans or have won approval to do so. Now, The Wall Street Journal reports that doctors have identified an antibody that could be used to protect pregnant women and their fetuses from contracting Zika.

The team from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine looked at 29 antibodies from people who recovered from a Zika infection and found one that neutralized five strains of Zika in the lab. They gave that antibody to pregnant mice either one day before or one or five days after the mice were infected with Zika.

The nightly news shows have been filled with dire reports from state after state about the ObamaCare exchanges’ exploding premiums. The result is that so many relying on what was once promised as “affordable” insurance are now forced to choose between their family’s health and rapidly diminishing disposable income. It is depressing.

The country officially has the ObamaCare Blues. This comes at a time when we’ve become an undeniably depressed people. Today, 11 percent of the American population regularly takes an antidepressant. The amount has increased by 400 percent in recent years.
